SOCIAL MEDIA'S PLAGUE---DUMB ASS-ISM

     All social media platforms are wonderful places to reconnect with old 
friends and family, start new relationships, push business interests (like John 
Layfield and I do everyday), or just chat and have fun.  
      But there is one major flaw with all forms of social media and I've coined 
the phrase "DUMB ASS-ISM" to describe it.  
      I will not be a hypocrite here, it's not in my nature.  So I am naming 
myself, Michael Cole, as the original social media DUMBASS.   A few years ago I 
called a friend and colleague a name on twitter that was meant in jest.  It was 
a horrible mistake because the word I used was extremely hurtful to an entire 
group of people.   It was embarrassing and humiliating because based on that one 
word the entire world thought I was something that I wasn't.  It took a 
heartfelt apology and years of hard work to attempt to repair the damage.   With 
that said I hope that incident can serve as an example, to at least a few, that 
DUMB ASS-ISM NEEDS TO BE corralled on social media.  
    How about this idiot who nearly ruined Manti T'eo's life and reputation and 
that of his family's?  DUMBASS!   What would prompt anyone to engage in the art 
of "cat fishing"?  Is your life that bad off that you need this type of 
attention?  Does it make you feel powerful to tug at someone's heart strings, 
play with their emotions, and in the end ruin them?  Are you so insecure with 
yourself, your life, your body, your own pitiful miserable existence that you 
need to engage in this?  Get a life, loser. 
     How about the person on twitter the other day who asked if I'm gay.   What 
business is it of yours DUMBASS?  I happen to be married with children, but if I 
was gay so what ?   Does your life revolve around knowing the answer to that 
ridiculous question?   Is the answer going to give you more self worth?  Is it 
going to change your  apparent meaningless life?   I am surprised you didn't 
tweet "are you straight?"
Or the other DUMBASS who says "well you act gay on tv".  Hello folks I am an 
actor.  What we do is entertainment. Hell my real name isn't even Michael Cole!
And how about the dozens of DUMBASSES who actually sent me death threats over 
twitter when I was feuding with (my great friend by the way) Jerry "the king" 
Lawler.   Death threats?   Really?   So let me guess,  you also threatened the 
life  of the actor who played Osama Bin Laden in "Zero Dark Thirty" because you 
believe he is a terrorist in real life? Or maybe you threaten Bryan Cranston's 
life because you truly believe he is a crystal meth maker and murderer because 
he plays one in "Breaking Bad".  
     I am all for the first amendment of the constitution by which this country 
is governed.   Freedom of speech allows us all to be DUMBASSES, but it doesn't 
mean we have to take advantage if it.    What it does mean is we all can have an 
opinion, which I have taken advantage of here.   Many things make my blood boil; 
racial inequality, sexual inequality, destruction of the environment, child 
abuse, animal cruelty, and lately DUMB ASS-ISM.   The good thing is DUMB ASS-ISM 
is an easy fix.   Just take pause before you Facebook, tweet, tout and make sure 
your not hurting anyone. Take it from me, ONE WORD can change your life and 
change the  lives of many others.
