Former Footballer Signs WWE Developmental Contract

December 10th 2013 - Former Burton Albion goalkeeper Stuart Tomlinson has signed a development contract with the WWE after being forced to retire from football in July.
 
Tomlinson who has had spells with the likes of; Crewe Alexandra and Port Vale made 25 appearances for Burton before a knee ligament injury forced him into retirement in the summer.
 
The 28-year-old impressed officials during tryouts at WWE's European tour in November and is now heading over to WWE's NXT developmental training center in Florida.
 
Tomlinson wrote on his official Twitter account, "Looking forward to a new job @WWE Swapping two posts and a net, with four posts & ropes."
 
 
Tomlinson who was nicknamed 'The Tank' due to his muscular physique and has appeared on the cover of Men's Health magazine will join fellow Brits in the WWE, Wade Barrett, William Regal, Drew McIntyre, Mason Ryan, Adrian Neville and Paige.
