Hulk Hogan should be a part of WrestleMania XXX

By Scott Fishman

For me the road to WrestleMania begins the day tickets go on sale for the biggest spectacle in sports entertainment.

Next year WWE celebrates a big milestone for the grand event. WrestleMania celebrates 30 years of history, pageantry and magic. The show at Madison Square Garden went from the biggest risk Vince McMahon had ever taken to a global phenomenon that brings in millions to every city serving as the home for WrestleMania.

A big proponent of the success during it's infancy was Hulk Hogan. Love him or hate him, you can't deny the draw the Hulkster was.

In reality he headlined the first nine WrestleMania spectaculars, if you count his surprise match against Yokozuna in 1993. He put WWE on the map, putting butts in the seats and enticing fans to buy the shows.

Before there was a Cena or an Austin, there was a Hogan. It is for this reason the Hulkster needs to be a part of WrestleMania XXX. Hulkamania should be recognized for its huge contributions, just as I think Roddy Piper and others who were synonymous with the event.

I think WrestleMania is the one time of the year there should be an infusion of nostalgia. Especially, when you consider WrestleMania is turning 30. I don't know if Hogan should be wrestling, but I actually wouldn't be against it for one last night.

I'm not the biggest Hulk Hogan fan by any stretch, but I can appreciate the way he captivates and electrifies an audience. There are many who are hating on the idea of the red and yellow returning for old time's sake, but you can be many of those same naysayers who will be taken aback the second, "I am a real American..." starts playing.

Look what happened during WrestleMania XVIII when he fought The Rock. Nobody could have predicted the huge response Hogan got when he walked down the aisle in Toronto. He came in the hated heel and walked out one of the most popular superstars in the company during that period. It was like he never left.

I would expect the same if Hogan were to be a part of the festivities in New Orleans. Regardless if it's a mention, a segment being interviewed by "Mean Gene" or a full-on match, Hulkamania needs to run wild at WrestleMania XXX brother!
