Daniel Bryan and CM Punk could be WWE's new Mega Powers dream team

By Scott Fishman

The "Macho Man" Randy Savage and Hulk Hogan were two of the biggest superstars in WWE on their own, but an unstoppable force together.

They made up one of the most star-studded duos in history. Even though there is no Miss Elizabeth in this scenario, Daniel Bryan and CM Punk have the potential to be the company's newest dream team.

The two friends came up together essentially on the independent scene and have the same drive to be the best at what they do. They are also a set of the most technically sound and gifted athletes on the roster.

These days they share a similar enemy in the Wyatt Family. Matches with the emerging talent can only elevate them more and give them experience working with legit main event superstars. Luke Harper has already shined working with the "Best in the World" in front of a worldwide audience.

The tag team scene is the most competitive it has been in a long time. Punk and Bryan could make it that much better. However, as a unit they can really do some good in facing the best the division has to offer. Bryan proved he could take a team to the top during his time with Kane in Team Hell No.

Much like what happened to Savage and Hogan, this partnership may not last. Especially, when each performer has the same ultimate goal of being the WWE champion once again.

Although I'm sure there are many fans out there who wouldn't mind seeing Bryan and Punk hold the world and WWE titles respectively at the same time. I believe that wouldn't be the first time.

As a team they can stand strong against the dangerous Wyatt Family, as well as whatever the Paul Heyman camp and the Stephanie McMahon and Triple H establishment cook up. However, when the dust clears match-makers in the WWE Universe clamor for Punk and Bryan on the biggest stage of them all.

Similar to what the Mega Powers did, there is hope one day we would see Bryan versus Punk at WrestleMania.

I may be getting a little ahead of myself, considering the current story of the Beard and the Best has just begun, but one can't help get excited at the possibilities.
