The Miz is awesome as the bad guy
By Scott Fishman
The Miz's career took a turn when he traded in the role of loving hero for despised villain.
It's a position the talented sports entertainer knows all too well. The reality star turned WWE superstar is also at his best and in his element as the bad guy.
The timing of it all was interesting considering he is in the middle of promoting his ABC Family movie "Christmas Bounty". However, I'm glad it happened on Raw.
I think it also made sense that his heel turn was solidified while teaming with Kofi Kingston, considering their history as rivals. Looking back at the Miz's biggest successes, and they all happened when he was the one getting booed.
The Miz is a natural at being the guy you love to hate. There was a time when he was one of the biggest heels in the company, which he parlayed into a WWE title reign and main event slot at WrestleMania.
He kind of faded in the background in recent months with some success, but nowhere near the level he was at a few years ago. This is why a change was in order.
Interesting enough when Miz originally turned into a good guy it was started by shaking Kingston's hand after a match. Now he has come full circle and is ready to get his career back on track.
The Miz has done a tremendous job as the guy WWE goes to for media appearances and goodwill trips. I've witnessed how great he is with children through his involvement with WWE's Be a STAR anti-bullying campaign. I believe when the cameras stop rolling he can still maintain his involvement.
After all, this is entertainment, and children should know the Miz the see on Raw or SmackDown is different than they one they get outside the ring. As heel, he also has a way of being a jerk, but a loveable one (if that makes sense).
Given the reaction from the crowd, it seems he is at a good start. In one moment, Miz got the Nashville members of the WWE Universe angry. His facial expressions and mannerisms are just as good, if not better than his work on the mic.
I'm looking forward to the Miz's evolution back into the dark side. It has been a long time coming, and I think will lead to bigger opportunities heading into 2014.
